THE ROLE:

• Client/ Client is offering an exciting opportunity to join their development team as a Principal Electronics Engineer.
  
• Are you a qualified experienced driven and motivated electronics engineer Are you looking for new challenges and opportunities and to work with local and potentially offshorebased engineers Then this could be for you.
  
• As a Principal Engineer you will be responsible for architecting and designing new offers as well as the maintenance and enhancement of existing offers. You will bring innovation and the ability to deliver highquality offers to the market in a worldleading company.
  
• This role involves analysing requirements to derive product architecture specifications and working either individually or with a team to transform these architectures into designs and implementations.
  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proven highlevel experience in electronics architecture design and development.
  
• Challenge assumptions and strive to find superior solutions in discussion with other engineers.
  
• Identify opportunities in product development that will provide innovation and benefits to the customer.
  
• Know of and be able to interpret compliance standards.
  
• Have a good understanding of modern manufacturing techniques for volume production.
  
• Have an appreciation of full design lifecycles from cradle to grave.
  

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:

Essential:

• A proven engineering background in Electronics product architecting and design (Best practice in circuit design schematic entry prototyping and circuit simulation multilayer PCB layout techniques).
  
• Have an awareness of market application and customer needs and should offer creative and innovative input to new products services or features and applications of modern technologies.
  
• Have detailed knowledge of and the ability to implement using complex compliance standards e.g. EMC Safety.
  

Desirable:

• Extensive experience in a new product development environment with a proven track record of successful delivery to customers.
  
• A good understanding of embedded microprocessors analogue and digital design.
  
• Working within an ISO9000approved process or similar.
  
• Working in multidisciplined design teams potentially split geographically.
  
• Experience and ability to act as technical lead of smaller teams of electronics engineers.
  
• Design for manufacture and testability.
  
• Experience of New Product Introduction into local or remote manufacturing facilities.
  
• Design and specification of Human Machine Interfaces.
  
• TFT displays
  
• Touchscreen technologies
  
• Highspeed digital design
  
• Implementation of wireless designs
  
• Delivering outcomes on timecritical Projects.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage but relevant experience would be considered as an alternative.
  
• Fluent spoken and written English is essential.
