Magic Memories is looking for an Assistant Director/Teacher who can support the Site Director in providing a high-quality program and to provide a warm, nurturing, safe. Pay: $38,480-$47,216

Educational Requirements:

Must meet one of the 3 listed below

1. AA in ECE and 2 years of teaching experience.
2. AA in a related field, 18 ECE credits, and 2 years of teaching experience.
3. AA or BA in an unrelated field, 30 ECE credits, and 2 years of teaching experience.

Assistant Director Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing a warm, safe, and affectionate environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing. It permits the child to grow and explore.
• Responsible for supervising the teachers, Cook, Assistant Teachers, and any other staff and volunteers within the program.
• Assist in working with Director and kitchen staff to ensure that food preparation is meeting the nutritional needs of the children.
• Monitor communication between teachers, staff, and parents.
• Report all important information to the Director as necessary.
• Assist with application and ongoing paperwork process as needed.
• Maintain food costs at 3% of overall income.
• Supervise and train staff on the implementation of lesson plans, activities, and events.
• Maintain good communication lines with other agencies in the community.
• Be competent in First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, and Fire Safety procedures and regulations.
• Assist with training for program systems including but not limited to Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Kangarootime, Teaching Strategies, Emails, and Google Drive.
• Be knowledgeable with laws, state child regulations, and local regulatory agencies.
• Travel 4 times per year for Conferences and Meetings as needed.

Teacher Responsabilities:

• Responsible for the welfare, health, and safety of the children in the group. To offer a program that meets the individual and the group's emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs. Treat each child with dignity and respect but with open affection.
• Maintained daily classroom responsibilities, activities, organization, cleanliness, and layout adhering to policies and procedures. All classroom postings, bulletin boards, displays, and calendars should be neatly displayed and kept current.
• Plan weekly lesson plans based on a curriculum outline and themes. Ensure that all state standards and objectives are included in lesson plans. Interact with the children to encourage their involvement in group activities.
• Establish and maintain good communication with parents through formal and informal conversations. This should include, but not be limited to, daily Kangarootime, email, phone conversations, and conferences. The Teacher should keep the Director updated on necessary information gained through parent communications.
• Complete observations for each student monthly
• Maintain order in all areas where children are present. Ensure the classroom complies with the Department of Human Services and other state regulatory agencies rules and regulations. This includes that the school is always in ratio.
• Supervise the teacher assistant, floaters, and afternoon staff as needed. Keep these coworkers updated on all relevant matters concerning the children and program.
• Attend all mandatory school-related events and activities. This includes choosing three different school and community events in which Magic Memories participates.
• Stay current on necessary personnel file items, training, and certifications, and understand program procedures regarding these areas. Competent in First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, and Fire Safety procedures and regulations.
