Job Description

LIGENTEC is a fastgrowing European company with headquarter in Lausanne Switzerland. Since 2021 we expanded our manufacturing capabilities by creating LIGENTEC France in the South of Paris. We specialize in the design & manufacturing of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for customers in hightech areas such as Quantum Technologies LiDAR Space Technologies and Biosensors.

LIGENTEC AllNitride (AN) technology enables our customers to develop their products in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

You are about to enter this unique opportunity to bring R&D to product.

To support our continued growth we are looking for a:

Application Engineer

Tasks

  • First contact point for customer design requests. You assess technical feasibility risks and cost.
  • Own the design simulation and tapeout integrated photonic components and circuits for customer and internal projects.
  • Develop new building blocks for PDK development including design simulation test planning and data analysis.
  • Contribute to internal R&D projects on new technology development including the integration of active components.
  • Interact with the characterization team collect capabilities design test structures and support in test planning and data analysis (design for testability).
  • Interact with the process team and yield engineering collect capabilities and requirements design test structures (design for manufacturability).
  • Elaborate and discuss SoW with customers prospects and project partners
  • Contribute to mask assembly and tapeout management when needed
  • You provide concise and clear documentation and reporting.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in photonics or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years handson experience in integrated optics design and layout in a top environment preferably industrial.
  • Solid understanding of different photonic material platforms combined with practical design experience.
  • Expert knowledge of passive photonics component design and circuit layout.
  • Experience with active components and heterogeneous integration is a plus.
  • Highly customer and solutionoriented mindset.
  • Able to work in a fastpaced environment and capable to deal with changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting.
