Do stuff that matters We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager/Team Lead for our innovative asset connectivity team at gridX.

As part of this role you will manage people drive technical strategy and ensure alignment across teams. Your primary focus will be creating a productive and healthy team environment enabling engineers to grow and thrive. This role does not involve daytoday coding but requires a solid understanding of software development processes and team dynamics.

We implement and operate communication services to monitor and control renewable energy assets like batteries EV chargers heat pumps etc. Your contribution will help us achieve this vision and make a real difference in the world #getshitdone.

  • Lead and manage a team of up to 10 engineers focusing on team efficiency their professional interests development and wellbeing (e.g. mental workload worklifebalance)
  • Mentor team members on technical topics like networks APIs and services
  • Support the team in developing communication services for IoT devices in the renewable energy sector and engage in people management activities including coaching and setting clear goals for performance management
  • Drive the technical strategy for the team and participate in organizationallevel discussions and decisionmaking while serving between technical and nontechnical stakeholders ensuring clear communication
  • Commit to developing usercentric products that effectively meet customer needs and preferences
  • Participate in hiring processes as a decisionmaker and contribute to promotion committees
  • Manage technology projects and ensure alignment with company goals while developing yourself with knowledge of energy sector trends and regulations

This is how you and your application stand out

These are our musthave requirements which we use to make the preselection for applications and interviews:

  • You should have either 23 years of experience as an Engineering Manager/Team Lead or Technical Project Manager in the field of IoT. Alternatively you should bring at least 5 years of experience as a handson Software Engineer with existing responsibilities of a leadership or team lead position
  • Its very important for us that you have more than just the interest in a leading position and already bring experience in people management or leadership with you
  • You have a proficiency level in Linux Docker CI/CD processes and version control systems like git from your time as a Software Engineer
  • Through your role as Team Lead/ Engineering Manager you bring a lot of patience and composure to your colleagues
  • You have the desire to impact the energy market and make the world to a better place

These are our nicetohaves which we dont use to make decisions but which can also provide you with additional information about the future setting:

  • Experience with Go/Golang as a main programming language and knowledge/interests of network protocols (e.g. IP TCP/UDP) and serial communication interfaces (e.g. RS485 RS242)
  • Cloud administration with Kubernetes and AWS
  • Knowledgeable about inverters batteries EVs chargers photovoltaic systems heat pumps meters wind turbines and fuel cells
