Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
ProfessionLX specialises in professional services where we engage our employees to empower them to excel for our customers. We are currently seeking AudioVisual Technician candidates to join our team in support of the NATO mission at the George C. Marshall Center. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years related experience specifically with Crestron equipment.

What you will do:

On Site AV Technical Support

  • Provide support to all AV equipment including but not limited to seminar rooms plenaries meeting rooms conference rooms offices and the video studio. Provide support to faculty and guest speakers with presentation and operation support in the facilities detailed above as required. Assist staff and faculty with operation of equipment in plenaries seminar rooms meeting rooms conference rooms offices and the video studio and will troubleshoot repair or upgrade equipment as necessary or as directed.
  • Configure seminar room table chairs and conference facilities for increased/decreased student participation; set up furniture for receptions and other events; install repair or reconfigure cabling for all AV systems within the spaces; position equipment and furniture necessary to accommodate all events.
  • Monitor the spare parts inventory which includes but is not limited to equipment designated as mission critical cables adapters and spare parts for conference seminar rooms. Advise when to procure or replace worn or defective items as required and provide expertise for the replacement of primary AV hardware and support equipment. Provide inventory requests for minor components e.g. cables battery units which are not covered by a manufacturer s warranty and notify leadership of the need for any replacements for the government to restock.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all AV systems located within buildings as needed for temporary use; notify leadership after repairs have been attempted to what degree and what actions were taken to rectify/remedy the problem or failure. Provide technical liaison and escort duties for repair technicians. Assist with troubleshooting maintenance installation repair and upgrades of all AV components and equipment throughout the GCMC spaces detailed above and provide recommendations for any necessary replacements of AV systems or support equipment.
  • Format and save digital media for archive and web delivery using provided materials and following archiving procedures.
  • Update and maintain all technical drawings and schematics using a computeraided design and drafting (CADD) AUTOCAD or Visio program to produce detailed technical schematics and obtain Government approval prior to installation or replacement of any equipment.
  • Maintain one master and two copies of all technical drawings and schematics and provide a digital copy.


Scheduled Maintenance

  • Develop a maintenance schedule in accordance with required maintenance as stated below and as required for each piece of equipment and submit the maintenance schedule to leadership for approval annually and upon request thereafter. Any changes to the maintenance schedule shall be approved by the COR.
  • Scheduled maintenance includes:
  • General maintenance. The cleaning dusting and visual inspection of AV equipment for normal electrical mechanical and optical functions; inspecting wiring and cable connection serviceability and alignment to approved manufacturer technical specifications; performing corrective service to cables and systems; inventory and recording of system components; testing AV equipment power supplies; testing cables and cable connections; failure determination and elimination. Contractor shall list failures in detail and provide this listing
  • Calibrate equipment to technical specifications as required. Calibrate video monitors and projectors during each sixmonth maintenance cycle. Perform any maintenance repairs or installation of cables or equipment unique to that cycle
  • Perform maintenance updates or upgrades to AV programming such as the currently utilised Crestron systems.
    Install replacements of naturally wornout parts not covered by manufacturer warranty.
  • Perform software/hardware upgrades to all AV systems in order to continue or enhance functionality.

OnCall (Emergency) Services

  • Perform OnCall (Emergency) repairs and services for all AV systems submitted via email telephone call text or digital message when designated at the on call technician in accordance with current SLA standards.
  • If a system component is deemed faulty and is covered by manufacturer warranty remove and replace the defective part and coordinate warranty repair/replacement. If a component is defective and there are no replacement parts on hand provide leadership with recommendations on any replacement parts needed.
Technical Oversight and Coordination Services
  • Oversee and direct the operations of the onsite Contractor staff.
  • Provide a focal point of information and communication between the Government and Contractor staff; provide technical expertise and recommendations regarding equipment maintenance repair and acquisition
  • Disseminate information to the rest of the Contractor staff and ensure all services are executed to a high customer satisfaction.


Requirements

What you will bring:
  • Minimum three years experience with Crestron systems and
  • Experience and skills necessary to maintain troubleshoot and update Crestron systems used in all AV operations.
  • Minimum of three years experience in performing maintenance operations analysing and identifying AV hardware and AV connectivity problems and performing immediate repair and maintenance of AV support systems.
  • Excellent customer service
  • Proficient in English.
