Job Description

PHL Capital Corp. is currently seeking a and motivated Mortgage Analyst to join their team. Working in collaboration with several different internal departments as the successful candidate you will be a main point of contact for borrowers and mortgage brokers. Assisting with the administrative aspects of the mortgage application and mortgage renewal process you will have strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail. You will ensure that all necessary information and documentation is received and processed in a timely matter and will have the ability to multitask and easily jump from one file to the next. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic fast paced environment with a strong desire to continue to grow and learn.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all mortgage maturities and the mortgage renewal process to ensure maturing mortgages are either renewed paid out or refinanced;
  • Assist other Mortgage Analysts in underwriting mortgage investments and creating mortgage summaries to be reviewed by the credit committee;
  • Prepare organize and categorize mortgage files in preparation for reviews by directors banks and auditors;
  • Followup on late payments;
  • Followup on outstanding mortgage documentation for both new deals and renewals;
  • Foster relationships with mortgage brokers and brokerages;
  • Ensure that all work is handled in full compliance within company and provincial guidelines and standards;
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as required.


Requirements

  • PostSecondary education with an emphasis in business administration or equivalent;
  • 13 years experience in real estate conveyancing mortgage financing or banking considered a strong asset;
  • Selfmotivated with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and build relationships with various individuals inside and outside the organization;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize time sensitive matters;
  • Ability to thrive in a highvolume fastpaced work environment. Our company values a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering results while maintaining a positive and collaborative atmosphere;
  • Extensive experience using MS Office programs (Excel Word Outlook);
  • Appropriately licensed in BC or a willingness to complete the Mortgage Brokerage in BC course within 3 months.

The salary range for this position is $55000 to $65000 per annum.


This is a fulltime hybrid opportunity (Monday to Friday) with the successful candidate working on site 4 days a week.
