ABOUT THE DISTRICT
River Delta is a K12 district with an enrollment of 1880. The District has 8 small schools: (4) K6 elementary schools; (2) middle schools; and (2) high schools serving the communities of Clarksburg Hood Courtland Walnut Grove Ryde Locke Isleton Rio Vista Birds Landing and Collinsville.
The River Delta Unified School District sits in three counties Sacramento Solano and Yolo. Although it is a tricounty district it is served by the Sacramento County Office of Education.
River Delta Unifed School District is committed to providing a quality education for all students and has high standards and expectations for students success in school. We are committed to ensuring that our students meet these standards and that our clients expectations for educational excellence are not compromised. The District continually improves and expands its curriculum by implementing new programs and broadening the instructional strategies used in the classroom.
Staff development opportunities are provided encouraged and promoted. Strategic Schooling is ongoing in all our school sites and Common Core training and coaching is the top priority for the district currently. In addition the District provides opportunities for staff to participate in ongoing inservices in all curriculum areas. The district encourages advancement on the salary schedule for advanced classes taken to improve instruction in areas agreed upon by the teacher principal and Superintendent.

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT II

DEFINITION
To assist a certified teacher by providing instructional support to students in the classroom; to assist in maintaining a safe environment in the classroom and on the playground; and to perform related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARCTERISTICS
This is the journey level class in the Instructional Assistant series. This class is distinguished from the Instructional Assistant I by the performance of the tasks and duties assisting students in the classroom and providing support to teachers which require ability to work with written materials and prepare written reports. This class differs from the Instructional Assistant III in that the latter required additional training for assisting students that have learning or physical disabilities.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from assigned teacher.
