Job brief
General kitchen helpers perform various cleaning, maintenance, preparation, and stocking duties. They wash dishes, help cooks prepare meal ingredients, clean kitchens, and help with customer service needs.
Responsibilities
- Clean, stock, and maintain the kitchen.
- Help with the preparation of meal ingredients.
- Ability to retrieve ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom, measure ingredients as per the cook's instructions, and remove leftovers from patron's plates, bowls, and glasses.
- Be able to ensure that all work areas are properly sanitized.
- Properly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments, and cutting boards.
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage cans with lids using a foot-operated pedal and handgrip.
- Sweep and mop floors, and scrub counters, sinks, walls, and countertops.
- Have excellent customer service experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a kitchen helper or other food service role
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Team player with good communication skills
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
