System Administrator
Summary:
Responsible for the upkeep configuration and reliable operation of End user computing systems Servers Network and Storage Infrastructure. Seeks to ensure that the uptime performance resources and security meets the business requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of experience as System Administrator
- Good knowledge of Windows Server (2012/2016) /desktop Operating Systems (Win 7/8/10)
- Strong understanding of Active Directory/LDAP user / group administration Group Policy design and configuration
- Linux/UNIX administration and handson experience in managing server virtualization technologies like Linux KVM VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft HyperV
- Should have installed and configured servers in at least one or more technologies (AD DHCP Mail Server Proxy Antivirus License Management etc.)
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking
- Should have worked in an environment of at least 50 servers and team of 10 system engineers
- Basic level of scripting (perl shell python) knowledge to automate routine IT tasks and scheduled jobs
- Good communication and documentation skills
Good to have:
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues LAN Routing and Switching design (VLANs IP Subnetting 802.1Q trunks)
- Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
- Good understanding of ticketing system and monitoring dashboards
- Positive selfmotivated individual who can complete tasks independently
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.
- MCSE RHEL certification or any other equivalent certification in relevant programs desired
- Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional CCNA/ CCNP MCITP Server
- Cloud Certification Foundation / Associate level desired
- ITIL Foundation Certified (Preferred)
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Design install and configure internal and customer facing servers network devices and firewalls.
- Proactively manage and maintain servers virtual machines network and firewall systems
- Administer and support core Microsoft Cisco/Brocade Linux (CentOS) and storage technologies
- Provide afterhours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
- Create system health reports and document root cause analysis for repeated issues
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
- Assist with hardware firewall telecom and software vendor evaluation recommendation and negotiations
- Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies
- Carry out special tasks Initiatives Service Improvements at Managements direction
- Interact with end users and staff at the technical level as required.
