Business Analyst

Equinox Consulting Partners LLC is actively seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our collaborative team in partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology Division (ITD). As a key member of the Business Analytics and Testing Support Team you will contribute to IT projects by providing expertise in Agile (Sprint) and traditional Waterfall methodologies for Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This is a HYBRID position requiring the incumbent to work on site in Richmond VA 23 days a week. Only candidates residing in the Richmond VA area will be considered.

Skills :

Understand Business Processes: Work closely with project team members and business stakeholders to comprehend business processes and identify pain points.

Expertise Development: Develop expertise in the customers business applications to facilitate effective analysis.

Root Cause Analysis: Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify system gaps and deficiencies that require a business technical or blended approach for resolution.

Process Documentation: Diagram current processes and proposed modifications using process flows context diagrams and data flow diagrams.

Requirements Discovery: Discover and document requirements and user stories with a focus on improving both business and technical processing.

Epics and Features Decomposition: Decompose requirements into Epics and Features and create clear and concise user stories that are easy to understand and implement by technical staff.

Progressive Elaboration: Utilize progressive elaboration; map stories to technical design specifications to be used by internal staff to develop system modifications.

Theme Identification: Identify and group related user stories into Themes documenting dependencies and associated business processes.

Product Backlog Maintenance: Assist Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog.

Prototyping: Create conceptual prototypes and mockups to visualize proposed solutions.

Solution Proposals: Propose alternative solutions that balance cost and benefit testing a solution s feasibility for business and technical compatibility.

Collaboration: Collaborate with staff vendors consultants and contractors in formulating detailing and testing potential and implemented solutions.

Quality Analyst Functions: Perform Quality Analyst functions such as defining test objectives test plans and test cases and executing test cases including regression testing.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing with Business and ensure Project Managers/Scrum Masters are informed of the progress.
