Training Specialist - JO297

Responsibilities:

Required to translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes:

• Designing & developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests
  
• Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations
  
• Support team members and knowledge transfer to fellow developers
  

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Understanding of modern architectural practices for cloud-based solutions.
  
• Proven experience applying software engineering best practices and architectural practices to agile product delivery.
  
• Experience conducting feasibility studies, reviewing new IT system architecture or re-engineering legacy systems.
  
• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful API and Oracle databases.
  
• Extensive hands-on experience with Angular, Bootstrap, HTML 5, JavaScript, SCSS and Node.js
  
• Extensive experience building Distributed / Service Oriented / Microservice-style and cloud based architectures (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
  
• Extensive experience with building complex, API-based solutions and transactional systems.
  
• Experience with code version control systems (e.g. Git), DevOps practices, cloud delivery / deployment models, virtualization, and container solutions
  
• Experience with writing automated test scripts for unit, integration and end-to-end testing
  
• Deep knowledge of common authentication technologies, browser-based security controls, and standard web application security tools.
  
• Actively contributed to all phases of software development life cycle (particularly focusing on agile methodologies).
  
• Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  
• A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies
  
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
  
• Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve any post-implementation technical issues
  
• Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications
  
• Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team
  
• Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  
• Ability to provide user and system documentation as required
