As a site reliability Engineer, you will be a key member of a team that leverages software and system engineering practices to build and run distributed, highly reliable systems at scale
Working with engineering team, you will define and drive initiatives to strive for operational excellence and best practice within observability, availability, resilience, and service up-time. You will have a code first mindset to build tools and automation that remove repetitive tasks with an endeavour for self-healing services.
You will have clear oversight on how system relate to each other, with autonomy to continuously iterate improvements to achieve highly available, fault tolerant applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage in house developed production services by improved observability on system health
Improve reliability, quality and compliance of services deployed within cloud technologies
Develop automation techniques to simplify repetitive tasks and explore opportunities to self-heal
Manage cadence for delivery against system reliability with well-defined service level objectives
Participate in system design, platform management and service reviews
Desired Skills:
Strong experience in a similar DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer role
Desirable understanding of IaC (infrastructure as code), CI/CD and modern tooling practices such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Jenkins
Experience with monitoring and tracing – Eg: AppDynamics, Datadog, NewRelic
Knowledge of cloud architecture (especially AWS)
Ability to code (structured and object oriented) with one of more languages (Java, JavScript, Python)
Experience with Containerisation (Docker, ECS)
A proactive approach to problems determination, identifying areas for improvement and system bottle necks
Excellent communication skills, collaborative and personable
