Quality Engineer - Purchasing amp Outsourcing MFX

DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY

Tissium is a missiondriven medical device company founded in 2013 headquartered in Paris with a production facility in Roncq (near Lille) and an office in Boston. We are dedicated to creating a new era of body repair by leveraging our biopolymer platform to develop new innovative solutions in surgery for a positive impact on patients lives.

Tissiums technology is based on research and intellectual property from the laboratories of Professor Robert Langer (MIT) and Professor Jeffrey M. Karp (Brigham and Womens Hospital) who cofounded the company with Christophe Bancel (CEO) and Maria Pereira (Chief Innovation Officer).

We are developing polymers for atraumatic tissue repair in various applications. Today these polymers are used for structureless nerve repair hernia repair and cardiovascular sealing

Since our inception we have raised a total of 170 million euros. Our latest fundraising round which concluded in April 2023 resulted in 50 million euros in additional funding. This infusion of capital provides us with the necessary resources to finance the commercialization of our first products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Engineer for Purchasing & Outsourcing is responsible for ensuring that all purchased materials components and outsourced services meet the companys quality standards and specifications. This role involves working closely with suppliers procurement teams and manufacturing departments to develop and maintain quality assurance processes throughout the supply chain.

Supplier Quality Management:

• Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to supply products in accordance with the companys requirements.
• Develop and maintain supplier quality performance metrics and monitor supplier performance.
• Conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Quality Assurance in Procurement:

• Collaborate with the procurement team to establish quality requirements for purchased materials and outsourced services.
• Review and approve supplier quality plans and validation protocols.
• Ensure that all incoming materials and components are inspected and tested according to quality standards.

Outsourcing Management:

• Oversee the quality of outsourced processes and services ensuring they meet contractual and regulatory standards.
• Work with outsourcing partners to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks associated with suppliers and outsourced services and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Participate in the development of risk management plans for the supply chain.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality and performance.
• Implement process improvements to streamline purchasing and outsourcing quality processes.

The employee shall apply all regulatory requirements in place at Tissium by applying Tissium Quality Management System documentation.

This job will report to the Quality Director.

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 34 years of experience in quality engineering supplier quality management or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies tools and practices.
• Experience with conducting supplier audits and understanding of ISO 9001 AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and process improvement techniques such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.

• Then a facetoface (virtual) meeting with the Manager of the department you are applying to join (1 hour)
• This will then be followed by a case study or business case to validate your practical jobrelated skills (1 hour)
• For the very final round you will meet other teams in Tissium
