Job Description

To perform maintenance on all electrical and mechanical equipment within the business ensuring that the Company
complies with its contractual obligations and that all equipment remains functional as per the specifications. Furthermore the
E&M Technician is responsible for recordkeeping of maintenance activities and to report/escalate any serious and malicious
damage to any electrical and mechanical equipment or facilities to his/her superior.

Grade 12
Qualified Artisan: Electrical/Mechanical
National Certificate: N6 Engineering Studies (Millwright/
Industrial Engineering)
Valid Unendorsed Code 10 Driver’s License
At least 5 years related experience
Fluent in English
Excellent Communication Skills (written & oral)
Interpersonal relationship skills
Selfmanagement
Expert Knowledge of the Electrical Installations
Expert Knowledge of Generators and UPS’s is essential
Mechanical (building) Maintenance experience si essential
Expert Knowledge of Access Control Systems
Expert Knowledge of CCTV Systems (would be an
advantage)
Planning and follow through of maintenance activities
Basic Computer Literacy Skills
Mechanical (building) Maintenance experience is
essential
The daily physical demands are those required to work
on the route inside outside and on top of
buildings/ladders.
The Technician must be competent driver.
A regular amount of overtime and standby duties to be
performed.
The work environment characteristics are those
encountered on a typical highway and at the toll road
environment as well as at office buildings and within
toll plaza lanes.

1. Oversee and manage technicians that form part of the
Department. Providing mentorship and guidance on
performance and execution of daily duties Conduct daily and
monthly inspections of all electrical mechanical access
control CCTV equipment and buildings at the plaza.
2. Repair all malfunctioning / damaged / broken equipment and
buildings as per the Maintenance Manual/Standards.
3. Report all incidents in the prescribed manner.
4. Recordkeeping of all inspections in the prescribed manner.
5. Ensure tools are kept in a good and clean working order.
6. Comply with all health safety and security policies and
procedures at all times.
7. Ensure that all equipment are in good working condition to
ensure optimal performance and uptime
8. Manage Subcontractor that perform work on site/at Plaza
ensuring:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
I. Work is delivered as per the scope
II. Ensure that quality is as per the standards and escalate to
supervisor in case of non compliance.
III. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and
policies and procedures and escalate to supervisor in the
event of non compliance.
9. Apply best practice principles for stock control at plaza.
10. Timeous reporting as and when required.
