Lead Automation Engineer

Purpose of Role:

• Lead delivery projects on behalf of the Senior Project Manager.
• Ensure timely delivery of equipment drawings and documentation liaising with Military and Offshore teams as necessary.
• Work with Project Managers on timeline development and cost tracking.
• Coordinate with Project Planning Test Engineers and Project Managers for correct and timely BOMs and production elements.
• Report project progress to P.
• Responsible for Control and Automation Software specification writing and management of 3rd party suppliers.
• Generate control and automation software for Military and Offshore projects using Ladder Logic and Structured Text Exclusively on Schneider PLCs
• Maintain and debug existing codebase.
• Conduct electrical design work (PCB design control module design wiring) for future products.
• Specify automation and technical requirements for thirdparty components.
• Act as a point of contact for third parties during development and manufacturing.
• Source technical components and provide information to the purchasing department.
• Provide 24/7 automation and electrical support to field service engineers.
• Offer support to other departments within the company and group.
• Coordinate building of components and control panels with Project Planning and Test Engineers.
• Provide estimates on cost and development time to ensure project profitability.
• Ensure proper testing and qualification of products including EMC testing.
• Perform field service visits and diagnose electrical and automation faults when required.
• Design complex logic templates for automation engineers to use.

Key Functional Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Lead delivery projects on behalf of the Senior Project Manager.
• Design and maintain BWMS software.
• Design electrical control systems.
• Provide technical support to all departments.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure project progress.
• Manage work with 3rd party companies.
• Provide support to other members of the company and group as required.
• Detailed Knowledge of field bus protocols Modbus RTU Modbus TCP/IP ProfiBus.

Limits of Authority:

• New development projects need approval from Military and Offshore Senior Project Manager.
• Budgeting and purchasing are carried out according to specific guidelines.
• Budgeting and purchasing for delivery projects follow guidelines.
