Network Reliability Engineer fmd

Tasks

The Network Reliability Engineering department is responsible for all IONOS Network Fabrics. We focus on scalable data center networks.

• Help design improve automate and troubleshoot networks in dozens of data centers.
• Design and build tools to manage the network automation.
• Research evaluate and recommend solutions for improving network performance and security.
• Work with other DevOps departments to support their requirements and innovate (K8S Storage Compute etc.).
• Participate in an oncall rotation covering all of the above.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Linux including automation/development building blocks such as Python bash iptables tcpdump git.
• Solid experience with Juniper devices EX QFX MX and SRX series and routing protocols (BGP OSPF).
• Nice to have Previous experience with infrastructure automation (e.g. automated provisioning of network devices experience with cloud technologies Ansible Salt Terraform RESTCONF NETCONF).
• Nice to have Previous experience with virtualized environments (VMWare OpenStack GNS3/EVE K8S) and their components (KVM OpenVSwitch Linux bridges).
• Nice to have Experience with software engineering best practices (code reviews source control management build processes testing release and change management).
