FSCompression is hiring an Air Compressor Field Service Technician for the Houston territory. The Service Technician is responsible for the service and support of all types of air compressors and related compressed air products. Areas of service and support include but are not limited to air compressors compressed air dryers compressed air accessories application troubleshooting performance evaluation service maintenance and proper installation. The Service Technician works directly with all customers to provide solutions to a wide array of potentially complicated field issues involving mechanical and electrical failures. The successful candidate will excel in the ability to interact with customers and provide technical solutions in a timely efficient and courteous manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- With a high degree of customer service service rotary screw air compressors.
- Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries damage to property manage unused materials and clean up debris
- Explain system capabilities and operation to the customer along with features and benefits
- Provide onsite technical support and repairs of customer s equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on air compressor products
- Understand customer needs answer questions and recommend corrective actions to exceed customer expectations
- Complete all necessary paperwork including work orders service orders customer contracts and company forms
- Exhibit professional appearance and conduct and provide customers with excellent customer service
- Ability to build trust quickly; interact and communicate well with customers and coworkers
- Follow all safety procedures environmental guidelines and company rules and regulations
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Requires technical knowledge and interpersonal skills typically gained through completion of technical school related experience
- 5 years of air compressor service technician role required
- High level of analytical ability is required in order to find solutions to technical problems both mechanical and electrical.
- Must be proficient in problemsolving process analysis; Capacity to troubleshoot and correct problems in highpressure situations
- A firm commitment to customer service excellence in all circumstances
- Computer literacy with strong organizational verbal and written communication skills
- Read and comprehend written technical information in the form of technical manuals parts books and relevant publications is essential
- Ability to move frequently including walking stooping bending squatting and kneeling; lift tool cases and assorted servicerelated tools weighing a range of 25 to 50 pounds
- Travel to customer sites offsite meetings company related functions etc. with short notice.
- Maintain a valid driver s license and good MVR
- Must be selfmotivated able to work independently within a team focused environment
EDUCATION: HS Diploma or equivalent
