Job Description

The inside technical / contractor sales position is responsible for processing contractor orders responding to material pricing requests and bidding projects. Working with customers to solve more complex requirements than day to day flow materials.

The primary tasks associated with this position are:

  • Gathering and coordinating product and pricing information
  • Generating customer proposals Job Quotes and Bids
  • Review building plans and products listed to create materials quotations fine attention to written specifications.
  • Managing sales from the initial quote through delivery to ensure accurate order entry pricing and delivery are achieved.
  • Visits to customers and job sites
  • Supporting account plan for target accounts
  • Additional duties include answering the phone providing back up sales support to the electrical sales counter and order pulling/checking products in the warehouse.

  • Good at figuring things out on the fly digging into technical details to be about to determine if a product or service will meet the customers application
  • Good understanding of the mechanical aspects of things how things fit and work together.
  • Independent productive Able to work without close supervision but knows when to get additional support.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Good Math skills


Training

Our training and onboarding program includes a rotation through various departments and working on our sales counter. On the sales counter you will be paired up with various associates to learn about our customers and the material that we sell. In addition to onthejob training training includes computer modules and one on one training on the basics of electrical distribution sales customer service our software operating system and our processes and procedures of operations.

(We will not spend a huge amount of time on the counter but this is a good training ground for basic product and on how to use the computer)


After your initial training period you will be assigned a mentor who will guide you in learning your inside sales duties and offer additional product/procedural support as needed. (LUKE and Rod )

We will give this person some specialized training on switchgear and medium voltage products . May send to some outside vendor schools or meetings from Siemens .
