Educator

The CSPD Educator will collaborate with leadership to plan coordinate develop revise and follow the agreed upon educational program and other related materials needed. The Educator is responsible for scheduling utilizing appropriate educational tools performing eventrelated education and maintaining CSPD educational records. He/she must maintain a competency rate average of 80%.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Project Director or the designated management person

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assess and modify education verity as needed for standardization to meet departmental educational needs

Create communicate and follow an educational schedule that supports highlevel operational capacity

Collaborate with leadership teams vendors and staff to provide evidencedbased simulation/educational experiences for CSPD personnel

Conduct education document program effectiveness and satisfaction

Ensure that records attendance logs and other educational documentation are accurate and completed in a timely manner

Conduct literature searches analyze and summarize relevant material

Compile post and display educational material and supportive documents to enhance teaching sessions

Maintain current standards and techniques as required by employer

Responsible for adherence of quality control on all sterilizers (i.e. biological chemical and mechanical monitoring) according to the standards set by: Joint Commission AORN and AAMI.

Have knowledge of and stay in compliance with applicable infection control policies and procedures

Collaborate and communicate measurable goals and objectives for educational programs

Organize and conduct educational seminars and formal trainings

Collaborate with vendors to coordinate and promote educational events

Work with vendors to maintain supplies for lab training

Provide support to participants employees and customers

Respond to inquiries within 24 hours

Document and submit reports to the Project Director or the designated management person

Travel as needed to assist or fill in for assessments or consulting services

Perform related duties as required

Requirements

Current CRCST certification and/or one of the following CER CHL CIC (or an equivalent certification)

Three (3) years education experience

Possess excellent communication skills

Act in a friendly and courteous manner

Work in a cooperative manner

Ability to assess and identify educational needs

Thorough knowledge of the operation of instruments and equipment in the department

Thorough knowledge of aseptic technique principles and ability to apply such principles when orienting staff at hospitals

PREFERRED

Associate in Business or Healthcare

5 years or more of Sterile Processing Educational experience

Certified Surgical Technician
