Job Description:
An exciting client of ours is looking for a Head of Business Development based in The candidate will report to the Commercial
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and line management of Johannesburg staff and
- Conduct regular (at least monthly) 1:1 individual check-in as well undertake half year and full year reviews of all direct
- Set the tone, culture, and lead the Johannesburg office in line with the company's culture, reflecting with integrity the values of the company as part of its public facing
- Drive, support and manage business development activities undertaken by the Johannesburg team through liaising and collaborating with the Commercial Director -
- Ensure that all relevant office premise matters are appropriately overseen, managed, and delegated as
- Contribute actively towards the South African Strategy and be an active member of the SA
- Provide relevant feedback and reporting to the SA Exco, the Commercial Director – SA and the Group Commercial
- Represent the company at local events and with key strategic partners and
- Facilitate strategic development and direct all activities related to the identification and facilitation of potential new clients and business opportunities within the region and will develop partnerships with key private sector players and institutions to improve the business operating environment within their
- Attend / host meetings where required for key business development
- Travel to Clients / Brokers or IFAs if required (including Mauritius) but based in the Johannesburg
- Ensure all the Johannesburg BD team deals efficiently with all new business enquiries via various methods , e-mail and
- Ensure all the Johannesburg BD team build relationships proactively with Clients, Brokers and
- Ensure Joburg BD team meet or surpass sales targets set at the beginning of the
- Ensure effective client relationship management of key strategic clients in the
- Drive new business projects and initiatives, constantly thinking of new innovative ideas for increasing
- Host and speak at the company's networking
- Monitoring New Business statistics and ensure appropriate reporting and
- Play active role in weekly BD team
Wider CIG liaison:
- Liaise with Commercial Director - SA to maintain and develop mutually supportive
- Communicate proactively wit h the Cape Town support team to ensure new and existing BD relationships are well serviced through on boarding and ongoing
- Communicate proactively with IOM operational teams to ensure efficient onboarding and servicing of SA
- Support relevant BD focused social media
- Maintain good understanding of relevant risk management and compliance processes and procedures relevant to the activities of the BD
- Support other members of the Group Business Development team including those based in other offices including the Isle of
Skills:
- Excellent team leadership and line management
- Presentation skills – to both small and larger audiences of
- wide knowledge of international financial services industry and topical

Requirements:
- RE5 - FAIS qualification essential; Commercial degree
- 5-10 years’ experience in a business development
- 5+ years’ experience of managing high performing
