Job Description
MidTier Systems / Server Administrator Cape Town.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MidTier Systems / Server Admin to join our fastpaced and dynamic team in the Information Technology and Services industry. As a MidTier Systems / Server Admin you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the systems and servers that are crucial to the functioning of our organization. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability security and performance of our server infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Monitor and manage the organizations server infrastructure ensuring optimal performance and availability at all times.
Install configure and maintain server hardware operating systems and software applications.
Collaborate with other IT teams to identify and resolve serverrelated issues and troubleshoot incidents.
Conduct regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data and applications.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates patch management and security audits.
Manage user accounts permissions and access levels on servers and applications.
Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure efficient utilization of server resources.
Stay uptodate with the latest industry trends and technologies in server administration and implement best practices within the organization.
Requirements
5 years working experience.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Proven experience in server administration and management.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
Proficiency in server virtualization technologies such as VMware or HyperV.
Experience with server monitoring and management tools.
Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a teamoriented environment.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
Relevant certifications such as MCSE is essential
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
