Main Job Purposes
To assist with maintaining the electrical and mechanical equipment to achieve the maximum availability at the minimum practical cost
Employment Specification
Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job)
School Minimum Grade Certificate Post School IT Qualification/ Certificate
Any further formal IT related studies will be advantages Job Related A and N Certification is a requirement
Experience At least five () years IT related experience in technical environment especially in Weighbridge operations
Experience in Electrical Fault finding civil works welding and mechanical repairs would be an advantage
Job Related Valid Unendorsed Code Drivers License
Certificate of medical fitness
Required competencies to meet the job outcomes

- Planning and follow through of maintenance activities
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- The daily physical demands are those required to work on the route inside outside and on top of buildings/ladders
- The Technician must drive a motor vehicle on public roads
- A regular amount of overtime and standby duties to be performed
- The work environment characteristics are those encountered on a typical highway and at the toll road environment as well as at office buildings
- The work is performed inside and outside buildings
- General end user support that includes troubleshooting and successful resolution of incidents and problems
- Managing monitoring systems and maintain all technical systems on site
- Monitoring logging investigating and resolution of all systems
- Routine maintenance on hardware software and other applications
- Creating and/or updating relevant network or systems procedures
- Daily and weekly backups according to system engineers specifications
- Installation of printers scanners Personal Computers PDA&rsquos network points WiFi routers etc
- Submit monthly reports on maintenance done and support given and on outstanding tasks to be done
- Liaise with third party service providers and manage service level agreements under direction of the Assistant Manager Technical
- Following network installation procedures
- Complete daily weekly monthly quarterly and annual inspection reports
- Ensure all equipment is serviced according to specifications outlined in the O&M Manuals
- Advise on any possible change of operations due to system defectiveness
- Attend to system faults as entered into the Fault Notification Book
- Complete any administrative task or any other work assigned from time to time
- Take responsibility for system training mentoring coaching and skills transfer
- Daily and weekly backups according to system engineers specifications
- Ensure all systems (TRAFMAN VMC CCTV Monitoring systems) are virus free
- Configuration of IP addresses on the systems as well as maintaining IP address lists
- Maintenance of the WAN / LAN / WiFi connections
