Job Description
The Principal Cloud Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering team while growing the business, and helping strategize growth and development. You'll be a leader and mentor in the department and company.
You'll be working closely with clients to deliver hands-on business-oriented strategies and provide technical consulting.
Responsibilties- Work closely with the sales team and clients to offer a consultative approach to architecting, deploying, modernizing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure
- Serve as the technical lead for 3 - 5 professional service and/or managed service projects simultaneously
- You'll have 1 - 8 engineers that directly report to you
- Responsible for ensuring projects are successful
- Happy clients, happy team, and deliverables are met on time, within budget
- Assist the team by making sure they have proper resources for growth and project completion
- Keep up with new technologies and methodologies and surface those to the team
- Work closely with the Project Management department to ensure that processes for projects and sprints are established, evangelized, and enforced
Requirements
- Must be expert-level in GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- Certified in one of these
- Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect
- Data Engineer Professional
- Cloud Security Engineer Professional
- Cloud Network Engineer Professional
- Machine Learning Engineer Professional
- Comfortable with quickly learning new technologies
- Ability to provide innovative solutions to client problems
- Experience building SOWs
- Good understanding of Agile and Development methodologies
- Prior experience leading a team of remote engineers with great success
