Description
The Landscape Foreman role involves supervising and completing landscape projects in the field through hands-on management of the landscape crew members while actively working to complete projects. The Foreman is responsible for overall site safety, quality and craftsmanship of the work and project completion in accordance with the project plan, timeline and budget.
Job Duties
- Leading a landscape crew as a hands-on, working foreman
- Fully understanding the project plan before fieldwork begins
- Working with the crew members to ensure they understand the project, their individual roles and the timeline for completion while motivating them for a successful and efficient job completion
- Physical work; including site preparation, planting (all plant types- from large trees to small annuals), loading and unloading materials and hauling equipment
- Proficiency with running and maintaining landscape and construction equipment and machinery
- Maintaining a working relationship with designers and managers to facilitate outstanding project results; including providing an excellent customer experience
- Ability to comprehend landscape drawings and execute the project based on these plans
- Ensure all materials and supplies have been ordered, organized and prepared/loaded and any needed equipment/machinery has been coordinated prior to the start of each project
- Completing and reconciling daily job reports and timesheets
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment on and off the campus; taking accountability for the cleanliness and order of the worksite, trailer, vehicles and equipment and notifying supervisors of necessary repairs and maintenance including performing daily equipment and vehicle inspections
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in the landscape construction industry both commercial and residential including supervision of small teams
- Driver license and driver medical card
- OSHA 10-hour Certification Card (within 10 days of assuming position)
- Strong working knowledge of landscaping machinery, equipment and tools
- Ability to adjust working schedule on short notice or to accommodate current projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment
- Client service oriented and able to provide explanation and adjust to the needs of the client
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Driver License a plus but not required
- Snow removal experience is a plus for year round employment
