Avionics Test Engineering Sensors is seeking to fill a Senior Test Engineering position with a talented individual who possesses a BSEE or similar degree. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and maintain test solutions for aviation test equipment products
Primary Responsibilities:
- Will assist in researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical devices problems on the production line.
- Gain knowledge in analyzing and evaluating new or improved electronic components.
- Will assist in providing guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Completes drawing designs as required, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects.
- Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met.
- Perform appropriate maintenance, function, planning and assessing of engineering procedures, structures, and tools.
- Will gain knowledge and adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
- Includes circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems.
- Troubleshoots and resolves electrical devices problems and day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.
- Designs major components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototype test systems, and promotional or specific products using computer design and engineering systems.
- Develops data and makes layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.
- Develop new test solutions to support the Collins production environment, which tests new avionics products both functionally and environmentally.
- Be able to review, analyze, and make minor modifications to software modules and tools.
The engineer who fills this position should possess the following skills.
3 to 8 years' experience with:
- Digital electronics
- Automated Test Equipment
- Good Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Visual Basic (VB.net, VB6)
- Visio (wiring schematics)
- TestWay (Design for test)
- Creo / Solid Works (cable drawings)
- Oracle
- Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Jama)
- Some understanding/knowledge of test software such as LABVIEW
