Job Description

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for covering both inpatient and outpatient services, with a focus on delivering high-quality care across a range of OB/GYN procedures and services.

Required Procedures:

  • Fetal monitoring

  • Management of low-risk pregnancies, including histories of twins, toxemia, and pyelonephritis

  • Fetal heart rate interpretation-NST/CST/FSE

  • OB ultrasounds-performance and interpretation

  • Routine delivery-vaginal, low forceps, decision-making for C-section

  • Complicated delivery-C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, repair of 3rd & 4th-degree lacerations

  • Office/minor gynecology procedures including IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP

  • Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures-tubal ligation, LOAs, chromic intubation

  • Operative/major procedures-ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs

Facility Features:

  • Modern birthing center with 16 LDRP rooms

  • Level II Nursery and dedicated surgical suite

  • Outpatient office located on campus

  • Rotating call schedule of 1:4

  • Partnership with local FQHC for community care

  • Support from seasoned RNs and staff

Practice Statistics:

  • The goal of 3 physicians with support from APPs

  • 40-50% low-risk pregnancies, 50-60% high-risk pregnancies

  • 30% C-section rate

  • GYN surgery and patient volume tailored to physician's comfort

Requirements:

  • Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in OB/GYN - REQUIRED

  • IL license (or willingness to obtain) - REQUIRED

  • Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated experience with the required conditions and procedures - REQUIRED
