What You Will Do:

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities for the company and shall assist the CFO. They are responsible for ensuring the books and records are presented in accordance with and in compliance with US GAAP.

Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • Partner with CFO and management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's overall goals.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate financial projections.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets and provide insights for improvement.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders within 5 days monthly and 7 days at year-end.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of the CPG industry to contribute to brand-specific financial strategies.
  • Collaborate with brand management teams to align financial goals with brand objectives and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage trade spend deduction processes through TPM tool assisting company in executing efficient trade spend programs and ensuring the integrity, timely processing and accuracy of the deductions processed.
  • Manage e-commerce and Amazon financial processes.
Team Leadership:
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering their growth and development.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Oversee inventory cost analysis and reporting, standard costing and variance analysis, and financial inventory management valuation, reconciliations and counts. Oversee line of credit borrowing, field exams and compliance with agreements.
  • Oversee annual year-end financial statement audit.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Financial Controls and Risk Management:
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, proposing solutions to enhance risk management processes.
Food Safety Controls:
  • All employees are responsible to report on food safety and/or quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate corrective actions. This isn’t a primary responsibility of the Controller, but we have a “see something, say something” work culture when it comes to safety.
Who You Are:

We are searching for a candidate with CPG experience, comfortable working with distributors and retailers, and who has a track record of mentoring and supporting a team of accounting professionals. Moreover, the ideal candidate should exhibit curiosity, openness to innovation and wants to be part of rapidly growing company.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management within the CPG industry.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of CPG brand dynamics, market trends, and consumer behavior.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and developing teams.
  • Proficient in financial software and tools, advanced Excel skills. Company currently uses NetSuite, bill, Avalara, Vividly TPM, and Solutions 7, an excel based BI tool.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $149k - $170k base salary plus 15% performance bonus
