Job Description

Peacock Laboratories, Inc. is a manufacturer of paints/coatings/mirror solutions. We are looking to hire an entry-level junior chemist for our manufacturing facility located just outside of the University City district in Philadelphia. This individual will be mainly responsible for R&D on new products and improve old products as needed. He/she will also oversee production of industrial grade coatings and chemicals, quality control, and assist with technical support on products. He/she should be comfortable working around chemicals in a warehouse environment and be able to follow written/spoken direction precisely.

Your Education will include:

  • High school diploma (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in science (chemistry preferred)

Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience will include:

  • MUST be responsible working independently or in a group
  • Attention to safety
  • Good interpersonal skills for external and internal communication
  • Discipline in reporting to work as scheduled
  • Willingness to cooperate with others to maintain a good atmosphere
  • MUST BE RELIABLE IN SHOWING UP TO WORK EVERY DAY AS SCHEDULED.

Required Skills: Basic office software. Note taking. Familiarity with basic lab equipment. Good mathematical skills as needed for computations.

Job Duties: Accurately weigh and measure raw materials. Combine ingredients using the steps described on a production sheet. Perform quality control tests. Fill cans with finished product. Affix labels and ensure QC is done on all products from production to shipment. Maintain tidy work area. Maintain tools and mixing equipment.

Training Provided: All training will be provided on the job under the supervision of a senior expert.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
