Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position will be based in Paarl; Western Cape, but will provide a service to several other sites across South Africa and the candidate will be required to travel to other sites from time to time and therefore must have a valid driver s license.
Key Performance Outputs:
- Collect and summarize timekeeping information as received from several sites.
- Capture and process all payroll information timeously.
- Manage all queries regarding salary and wage payments.
- Generate relevant monthly reports and send to stakeholders.
- Ensure that all needed new starter / termination documentation is updated as per company policy.
- Assist with tax year end IRP5 submissions as well as mid-year tax submissions.
- Assist with annual COIDA submission.
- Ensure correctness of Employment Equity and Workplace Skills plan data.
- Oversee all Payroll functions across all local entities.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Matric.
- Diploma Payroll Administration / Diploma or Certificate in HR or Accounting (NQF 5 or higher).
- Minimum 5 Years experience in payroll processing for a medium to large organisation. Processing wage and salary for 500 plus staff.
- Background and experience in the Agricultural Industry will be beneficial.
- Benefit Administration experience is a must have (Pensions and Provident funds specifically)
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- Valid drivers license.
Knowledge:
- Industrial Relations (BCEA, Skills Act, Equity Act, LRA, etc).
- Payroll system knowledge (Sage VIP Premier or Sage 300 experience preferred).
- Time and attendance experience.
- Previous experience with SARS and statutory calculations.
Skills:
- Needs to be proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP s / Pivot tables).
- Good computer literacy; MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and deadline driven.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relationship building and interpersonal skills.
