Position Overview:
As a Mid-Level Tax Preparer, you will play a crucial role in our tax department. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and review individual tax returns, with a strong emphasis on 1040 forms. You will collaborate closely with clients, providing tax planning advice, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maximizing tax efficiencies. Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation: Prepare and review individual tax returns, including but not limited to Form 1040, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.
- Client Engagement: Communicate with clients to gather necessary tax information, answer queries, and provide tax planning guidance.
- Research and Compliance: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring that tax returns are filed accurately and on time.
- Tax Optimization: Identify opportunities for tax savings and advise clients on strategies to minimize their tax liabilities within legal boundaries.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and comprehensive client files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly recorded and stored.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct internal reviews of tax returns to maintain high-quality standards and minimize errors.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional service and trustworthiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- 2+ years of experience in tax preparation, with a focus on 1040 forms.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (Sage Intaact experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule:
Weekdays 9-5. Possibility of working from home 1 day/week.
