Job Description

Quality Engineer

Location: Newcomerstown, OH

Direct-Hire Full-Time

We are searching for an experienced Quality Engineer. This individual will play a pivotal role in establishing and implementing an internal audit system in line with the Company's standards, processes, and ISO 9001 requirements. Your focus will be on upholding the highest quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year technical, science, or engineering degree is highly desired, with a focus on material science or chemistry being especially advantageous. Relevant experience can also be considered.
  • 2-3 years in the steel/metals industry is preferred. Experience in heavy manufacturing is a significant plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ISO 9001 system is mandatory.
  • Proven auditing skills with hands-on experience in audit systems.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles is desired. The ability to flourish in a continuous improvement culture is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative nature and the capacity to work effectively across multiple functional areas.
  • Adaptable, with the ability to guide others through change.
  • High attention to detail, impeccable time management, organization, and follow-through capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

Essential Duties

  • Safety & Compliance: Prioritize safety and comply with environmental requirements, policies, and the Code of Business Conduct.
  • Company Culture: Promote a positive work environment that aligns with the company's values and culture.
  • Internal Audit System: Design and execute a comprehensive internal audit plan covering both facilities. This includes layered process audits, tracking nonconformities, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Quality Standards: Support and maintain the site's quality systems, policies, and procedures. Ensure they are up-to-date and align with ISO accreditation requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a company-wide culture of enhancement and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the Senior Metallurgist to bolster quality initiatives, and aid in the ongoing development of quality management systems.
  • Statistical Analysis: Conduct capability and other statistical studies on products and processes.
  • Lab Support: Offer support to the Lab across both facilities when needed.
