Job Description

Regional Sales Manager

We are seeking a skilled Regional Sales Manager who excels in a dynamic sales cycle environment. This role involves developing and executing sales, marketing, financial, and structural strategies within the designated territory. Responsibilities encompass engaging with distributors, end users, manufacturing representatives, pursuing new sales leads, and conducting market research.


Our client specializes in the design, manufacturing, and promotion of premium cable, connectivity, and control solutions for industrial automation and transportation sectors. They are a rapidly expanding company operating within the industrial automation industry and are enthusiastic about expanding their sales team.


A typical week in the life of a Regional Sales Manager includes making sales calls to potential leads, visiting current clients, collaborating with manufacturing reps, and leveraging the support of an outstanding Inside Sales team, technical experts, and other internal departments. The role revolves around relationship-building, participating in tradeshows within the territory, and addressing inquiries from potential clients.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key customers, distributors, and contractors to boost sales volume and enhance customer service.

  • Plan, lead, and manage the sales resources to ensure comprehensive account coverage.

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of automation and electrical products, as well as distribution channels.

  • Drive demand generation by educating distribution partners and OEMs about product benefits.

  • Develop strategic plans and execute product line initiatives and introductions.

  • Assist channel partners in identifying new sales opportunities within existing and new accounts.

  • Act as the primary contact for all matters specific to defined accounts.

  • Conduct necessary lunch-n-learns, offering technological support for product training to rep agencies, distributors, or end-user clients, emphasizing the advantages of our clients solutions.

  • Manage meals and entertainment with clients in accordance with Travel and Expense policy guidelines.

  • Resolve customer disputes through various communication methods, including in-person, phone, MS Teams, and email.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including inside sales, marketing, product management, and operations.

  • Oversee local manufacturing representatives, establish sales targets, and develop business plans.

  • Manage customer account relationships, including negotiating pricing to optimize profits.

  • Maintain records of both existing and potential customers using our clients CRM software.

  • Identify prospective customers through various means, such as business directories, referrals from existing clients, participation in organizations, clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences within the assigned territory.

  • Anticipate up to 50% travel within the assigned territory and beyond as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven work experience in roles such as Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or Regional Sales.

  • Familiarity with the principles and methods of promoting and selling products or services, including marketing strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales systems.

  • Understanding of the principles and processes involved in providing customer and personal services, encompassing customer needs assessment, service quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles pertaining to strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and resource coordination.

  • Strong customer service, oral and written communication skills, including face-to-face, phone, and email communication.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).


Compensation: $80-90K base range, $130-140K OTE.

Remote position with up to 50% travel.
