Role Overview

The Head of Planning and Capacity plays a critical role in ensuring that we run our operation at peak efficiency. This role reports directly to the COO and oversees the strategy, planning, and management of our operational capacity. The Head of Planning and Capacity owns the central intelligence of our operation including all elements of capacity, from ensuring we have resource to meet day-to-day requirements to the longer-term strategy of how we scale our operation in the next 1-3 years.

The Head of Planning and Capacity will manage a small team of high-performing operations managers and will be responsible for ensuring that the work of this team is in line with the long-term company goals. This role requires strong people management skills and the ability to ensure high productivity from a lean team.

All candidates applying must have a minimum of three years of relevant experience and possess advanced analytics and problem-solving capabilities. We are a tech-led company so all candidates must be comfortable with advanced data analytics and be comfortable working with new systems.

All Operations roles at HIVED are in-person and primarily based at our depot in Woolwich, with the option to work from our Shoreditch office as required. We also offer the option to work remotely ad hoc as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all elements of HIVED's day-to-day operational capacity requirements to support the smooth functioning of the operation
  • Build out HIVED's long-term capacity forecast based on the company strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve our cost base through operational efficiencies and the improved use of data and analytics
  • Create and track all capacity KPIs to drive accountability across the Operations team and provide regular updates to the COO
  • Work with the wider Operations team to maintain a centralised capacity management forecast that will be used across the business
  • Manage the Planning and Capacity team providing timely feedback and ensuring the team is running at full productivity


Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience of working with operational capacity
  • Deeply analytical with an intuitive understanding of data and strong data-led decision-making
  • Strong people manager with experience leading a team
  • Ability and willingness to both roll up your sleeves to get a daily task done and execute on a long-term strategy
  • Comfortable using and adapting to software systems
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and not miss deadlines
  • Passionate about the HIVED mission and sustainability more generally
