YogaSix created boutique fitness as we know it. Our yoga and fitness classes allow our members to define their practice. With an established and loyal following, YogaSix is a modernized yoga brand that promotes accessibility and is poised for nationwide adoption.

We are currently looking for a Part-time Lead Yoga Teacher to support the Studio Owners by providing programming expertise, onboarding, and ongoing coaching for studio teachers. Responsibilities include reviewing sequences, auditioning teachers, offering feedback, and leading format training for our studio in Mountain View, California.

This is a part-time position offering a competitive hourly rate, along with a session rate for publicly led group classes. The average estimated time commitment typically ranges from 5 to 15 hours per week, plus additional teaching hours, which may vary based on the studios current needs and stage of development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintain a consistent presence while teaching and practicing at the studio
  • Signed off on all 6 core class types
  • Teach a minimum of 5 to 8 yoga classes per week, covering at least 4 different class formats
  • Take responsibility for teacher recruitment, auditions, hiring, coaching, and professional development
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Yoga Sixs core formats and the ability to distinguish between them
  • Proficient in reviewing sequences submitted for non-standard formats (Y6 101, Y6 Slow Flow,
  • Y6 Restore, Y6 Power, Y6 Sculpt & Flow) and provide feedback to teachers, General Manager, and the Department of Education upon request
  • Lead teacher auditions for various class formats and conduct audits of existing teachers classes in different formats to provide continuous support
  • Coach teachers in a supportive and empowering manner, identifying areas for growth and acknowledging their strengths
  • Complete audition evaluation forms for each teacher and submit them to the studio manager
  • Lead in-house format training sessions, including full-class experiences for training purposes

  • Yoga Six Ambassador for Community Events
  • Lead by example and consistently perform all tasks at the highest level
  • Support and uplift team members by giving them the tools to succeed in their roles
  • Adhere to Yoga Six Core Values and uphold them with all team members
  • Step in as the studio s authority figure if the General Manager is unavailable

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

  • Certified Teacher with experience in Vinyasa-style yoga
  • Minimum of RYT 200hr Certified Yoga Teacher (500hr Certified Teacher preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (E-RYT status preferred)
  • Yoga Management experience is preferred
  • Eligibility and legal authorization to work in the US
  • Basic knowledge of various teaching styles and an interest in evolving teaching skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support people and deal with conflict professionally
  • Ability to coach and develop teachers in refining their teaching techniques
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, ClubReady and Mind Body Online are preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move freely within a heated room (up to 105 degrees) to demonstrate postures, and transitions, and monitor student movements
  • Capable of providing hands-on adjustments to students as needed and upon request
  • Ability to lead dynamic, energizing, empowering, and enjoyable yoga and fitness classes
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises relevant to the class style, as often required
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing 1-20 lbs
