Job Description

PLANT MANAGER (with succession to Director of Operations) (Permanent)
Our client, an international manufacturing company with its US headquarters in WNY, is looking to hire a Plant Manager to join their growing team. This position is available as the successor to the current Director of Operations who is anticipating moving to the Canadian location in the next year.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the US Operations regarding manufacturing and assembly, utilizing operational expertise to drive production and the overall success of the company
  • Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the facility, focusing on the continuous and measurable improvement of the Quality, Safety, and Production teams to drive inventory up and costs down
  • Maintain a keen eye regarding automation, recognizing areas it can be successful and following through with its implementation
  • Oversee 7 direct reports and roughly 100 indirect reports in the factory to ensure processes are being completed as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Source, train, and mentor plant supervisors and managers, holding each accountable for their contributions and recognizing/rewarding their successes
  • Design upgrades for plant floor layout to optimize production and performance using 5S and other organizational systems
  • Update and implement a forecasting system that includes sourcing, procurement, production, and distribution
  • Implement and ensure a culture focusing on LEAN and daily continuous improvement
  • Act as an advocate for process improvement, establishing clear objectives and ensuring necessary improvements are being carried out
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary


Details:

  • Position is full time, direct hire,
  • 100% in-office; 1st shift; some travel to Toronto, as needed
  • $140,000 - $160,000 annually depending on experience, plus 10-15% bonus potential
  • Outstanding benefits including minimal out-of-pocket payment premium for Health, Dental, and Vision; 100% match on 5% for 401k, excellent PTO, and 13+ holidays
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Engineering experience / degree required
  • 10-20 years experience in manufacturing/distribution industrial operations within a leadership role
  • Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and break down complex problems to determine clear, concise solutions
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Relocation not available
