This job requires:
Manages a manufacturing facility's operational execution and growth strategy. Responsible for ensuring safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. Oversees the production process and ensures that all quality standards are met. Monitors performance and adjusts strategies when necessary.
The responsibilities include:
- Ensure that plant operations are maintained and optimized, including production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and receiving. Our goal is to exceed customer expectations. Monitor and analyze performance data to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop action plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Lead the implementation of process and system improvements.
- In charge of six to twelve direct reports in the areas of EHS, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance & Engineering, Purchasing, and Planning in manufacturing.
- Develop short- and long-term strategies with Operations Staff, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, R&D, HR, and Finance across cross-functional leadership teams.
- Ensure continuous improvement, talent development, and innovation execution while improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and morale.
- Control capital expenditures, operating expenses, manpower, wages, and salaries in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain capital assets. Ensure that overtime and repair costs are controlled and minimized.
- Ensure that existing plant facilities and equipment are maintained and adjusted as needed.
- Be champion of health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Participate in the resolution of grievances and maintain good working relations between the union and management.
- Comply with all HSE guidelines and facility ISO/TS standards.
- Travel within the country and internationally as needed.
The following qualifications/experience are required:
- It is preferred that you have a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering or business management.
- Having at least five (5) and ten (10) years' experience in continuous operations and capital-intensive operations within Operations Management.
- Exposure to union management.
- Demonstrated ability to drive/support safety improvements and show dedication to safety.
- Planning, logistics, quality, safety, and supply chain knowledge are essential.
- Practical experience with Lean, TPM, and/or Six Sigma tools.
- Having the ability to interact with both internal customers and vendors.
