Job Description

Job Duties
Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed
Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician
Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life-threatening medical problems
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized
patient care ;
Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments
Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers
Verbal skills to effectively convey sensitive information in a courteous manner in person or on the telephone
Perform wound care/dressing changes
Collect specimens such as blood, urine, sputum ;
Monitor patients for changes in clinical condition and report to RN/Physician
Perform CPR in emergencies
May perform minor housekeeping duties around the nursing unit
Check patients’ chart for specific treatment, medication orders, schedules, as indicated
Administer professional services such as catheterization; tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, massage, and exercises; care of the dead/dying as established by our policies and procedures and the policy of the facility
Provides appropriate pain/symptom Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications
Perform routine documentation as required
