Job Description
The purpose of this position is to lead the support of NEP s network infrastructure supporting WAN Backbone, datacenter and venue connectivity The role will provide IT and network support, setup and troubleshooting for live production
- Serve as networking expert in supporting the core IP based infrastructure for NEP s Datacenter
- The role will focus heavily on design, setup and support of network infrastructure and video transmission
- Coordinate with NOC, problem solve and troubleshoot network connectivity issues in a WAN and/or LAN
- Support, monitor, & troubleshoot technical workflows from datacenter to client and NEP control
- Work with fellow Network and Broadcast Engineers on monitoring and troubleshooting SOP
- Bring expertise in WAN/LAN networking workflows, and familiarity with the WAN/LAN video/audio transmission
- Apply expertise in BGP, and Spine/Leaf architecture, applying it in for distributed sites and production
- Formulate plan to rollout video, data, and voice solutions for venue kits and control
- Communicate efficiently with internal and external operational contacts as needed to ensure on-air succes
- Assist with providing technical support for new builds and system upgrades, in cooperation with the Engineering, IT, and Systems Integration team
- Be ready and willing to advise and suggest on IP technical workflows that can enhance productivity, and workflow
- Assist with Network security protocols and permission-based access to a variety of production equipment and monitoring
Requirements
- Technical or field or Engineering preferred, however various combinations of education and experience will be
- Ability to work in, and understand SMPTE 2110 environments, familiarity with IP
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering
- Familiarity with production/video/audio IP workflows
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in high-pressure situation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications as well as Visio or similar engineering sketch tool
