Team-oriented consulting firm is seeking a Wetlands Scientist for their Canton, Ohio team! This position is eligible for a flexible hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental field surveys, including wetland/stream delineations, endangered species surveys, environmental inspections, and compliance monitoring
- Collect data using handheld GPS
- Prepare environmental/wetland delineation reports
- Weekly travel expected
Requirements:
- BS/MS degree in Biology, Environmental Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience
- 1+years of field lead experience
- Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT) preferred and may reduce years of experience needed
- Proven experience conducting wetland delineations in OH, WV, PA, VA and/or surrounding states
- Extensive knowledge and/or experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual (1987) and Regional Supplements
- Familiar with local flora or Northeast and/or Midwest and identify upland/wetland vegetation
- Experience using field guides/dichotomous keys
- Knowledge of Section 401/404 permitting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to hike 5 or more miles per day through rough terrain in all types of weather while carrying up to 40 pounds of equipment
- Experience conducting ORAM and HHEI/QHEI evaluation preferred
- Experience conducting avian and botanical surveys preferred
- Experience with ArcGIS preferred
