Large Scale Backend Engineer

We re looking for new members to join our small and focused engineering team to build the next generation of web scraping tools together. We re building a world where data collection is a breeze and where publicly available data is at anyone s doorstep - should you be a marketplace looking for competitor information or an SEO agency collecting search engine data for your customers.

Tasks

The ScraperAPI engineering team is a small but focussed group of senior engineers. Their main mission is to help customers programmatically gather any publicly available data on a large scale. We work in a loose agile process because we don't need to remind ourselves what we need to do. In your new role you'll be responsible for maintaining and further developing a large transactional SaaS API and related components that handle tens of thousands of requests every second. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving application performance and stability, which are vital to our service offering.

Requirements

• Solid background with large scale SAAS applications (tens of thousands of API calls every second)
• Deep understanding of HTTP and related protocols, headers, proxies, cookies, etc
• Interest in data - fetch, parse data and make it structured for our customers; all these in a scalable, automated way
• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript - we are not looking for a specialized developer, but we also don t want to start from scratch
• Focus on developing for our customers, not for the sake of just releasing things
