Job Description: Release Manager

Duration: Long Term

Location: Normal IL (Initially Remote)

Job Description

  • Produce and maintain Release Schedule.
  • Communicate the status of releases to IT stakeholders
  • Ensure that the correct tasks are created with sufficient detail of the work required
  • Ensure that appropriate approvers have been defined and change request is approved before implementation.
  • Work with change owners/project Lead to ensure completion of required Release Management Process checkpoints.
  • Coordinate with Configuration Manager to record information about the Release package into the configuration management database (CMDB)
  • May represent the Release at the Change Advisory Board if necessary
  • Coordinate release implementation
  • Ensure every enhancement/bug fix, build has been fully tested before implementation
  • Ensure that all relevant parties are informed of progress and completion
  • Chair regular Release Management meeting
  • Manage, review, and audit the release management process document
  • Participates in a change-specific Release Go/No Go meeting as needed, or administers the meeting as required.
