Role: Technical Project Manager
The roles are primarily remote with required on-site visits 2-4x for a 6 12-month engagement.
Length of Engagement: Six-month engagement w/ potential extension/renewal to 1-year dependent on performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with key stakeholders at all levels of the agency to scope, plan, and implement small to complex projects, typically multiple concurrent projects
Manage day-to-day client communication and coordination of cross-functional delivery teams including technical, clinical, and executive stakeholders
Meaningfully communicate status to internal technical and executive teams as well as external clients and partners
Communicate roles, road maps, timelines, risks, and resources, to ensure high quality on-time delivery
Provide hands-on management, coaching, and implementation during various phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, training, and success validation
Assist in developing the methods, standards, templates and practices of a PMO, including policies and procedures documentation
Optimize process and project management tools and reporting
Help provide training on project related topics
Ensure that every client-facing communication reinforces clarity, focus, and high quality; cheerfully manage complex client relationships with multiple stakeholders
Manage the making and keeping of client-facing commitments, including request, issue, and risk lists
Ensure clear understanding of client requirements and wishes, clear approval and sign-off communications, and clear recognition of value delivered
Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned, possibly including some travel, off-hours, or on-call responsibility
Sometimes clients will be very complex: like a multi-stakeholder government organization, with multiple levels and units. Sometimes the client will be simple: like a small internal clinical group.
Qualifications:
10+ years of tech industry experience and 2+ years of program management experience leading teams of professionals in a matrixed structure
Proven track record of successfully managing large projects and accomplishing project goals in a timely manner
Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to manage up, across, and down multiple business and technology groups
Proven experience in enterprise-wide EHR/CRM deployments
Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
Advanced experience using and enhancing enterprise project and portfolio management systems (i.e., Smartsheet, JIRA, Confluence, Asana, etc.)
Solid understanding of project management concepts, methods, and best practices; experience in establishing a PMO
Experienced and comfortable working with both technology and business teams in either an Agile SCRUM model or more traditional waterfall model
Advanced communication, organization and management skills
Ability to organize, coordinate, and help teams and clients keep their eyes on the prize
Data-driven and results-oriented to effectively and efficiently deliver on project objectives, with the ability to bridge between business and technical stakeholders
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work independently; a self-starter
Experience managing vendors and partners
