You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Sr. Mechanical Engineer position will challenge you to utilize your engineering degree and project management skills to develop standard and custom products. Mechanical Engineers work on all stages of a project, from development through installation and commissioning. This position is responsible for all mechanical design considerations to develop and support water treatment dissolution and filtration products, ensuring Chart engineering design standards and customer specifications are met. Previous experience in water treatment is a plus.
Can be located in Fayetteville, AR or Duluth, GA
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be
Read and evaluate customer specifications, code, and other industry standards
Create plans, designs, and customer solutions for assigned products and projects
Work with Sales and Application Engineering teams and customers to gain a better understanding of system requirements and their impact on system design and proposed solutions, including evaluating process flow diagrams (PFD's) and/or process instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Work closely with CAD designers to prepare and coordinate general arrangement (GA), submittal, and final design fabrication/assembly drawings
Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOM) for projects, specifying appropriate components
Support on-site start-up and commissioning of projects as needed
Work with Application Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CAD Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to meet customer and engineering requirements for fabrication, assembly, and shipping
Your Education Should Be
BS degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
MS degree or PE is a plus
Your Professional Experience Should Be
Required: Minimum 5-7 years of relevant engineering experience
Preferred: Minimum 3 years of experience in the engineering, design, fabrication and commissioning of mechanical equipment used in water treatment, pressure vessel, boiler, or oil and gas industries
Preferred: Experience with manufacturing facilities
Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
Understanding of process diagrams, fluid flow in pipes, pump selection
Understanding of cryogenic liquids, compressed gases, and their properties a plus
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: esp. Excel, but also Word and PowerPoint
SolidWorks CAD skills preferred
Finite Element Analysis skills preferred
MathCAD or MATLAB skills preferred
Exposure to JD Edwards, SAP, or similar ERP system
