Founding Engineer - Backend/APIs

Tasks

About Role:

As a founding engineer, you will be focused on architecting and building the core of our platform with API first principles. Core serves two sides of our platform: publishers and brands. On the publisher side, Core is responsible for providing access to the catalogue, cart, checkouts, payments and rewards services via APIs. On the brands' side, Core is used by our Platform integrations team to orchestrate/sync product catalogues, orders and payments between the platform and our partner's shop-systems incl. reconciliation. You will take ownership of our entire architecture in collaboration with the Publisher and Platform Integrations lead. Hire, Develop and Setup best in class onboarding experience for new team members.

Requirements

About You:

• You must have atleast 4+ years recent active backend coding experience with API first principles
• You have designed backend architecture/services involving event streaming/GraphQL
• You were an early lead engineer at a successful startup or a product team within big firm like Stripe
• You actively contribute to open source projects (bonus points if e-commerce)
• You have setup infrastructure/environment/pipelines from scratch
• You are passionate about programming, mentoring, shipping and measuring
• You are admired by your current/past team and they'll follow you anywhere
• You are resilient, humble, loyal and have strong integrity
