Job Description

Position Overview

Join our fast paced, team-oriented culture. Our Maine based firm serves the construction industry, producing and installing custom designed sheet metal ductwork and accessories. We specialize in clean air for hospitals, schools, biomedical facilities, and office buildings.

We are seeking a Field Foreman, with knowledge, ability and experience running crews and job sites installing Sheet Metal Ductwork and Accessories. This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and experience, learn new skills and advance in our growing organization. The ideal candidate for this role has 5-10 years experience in the sheet metal construction industry, is responsible, reliable, has great communication and customer service skills, is committed to workplace safety and quality, is willing and able to give and take direction, support continuous improvement, and train and mentor others to grow in the industry.



Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Able and willing to run a crew of several men, coordinate with other trades, GCs and clients/customers to assure safety, quality, delivery and functionality of the systems Tech Air installs

  • Professional and positive meeting presence with clients, GCs, other trades and the team

  • Create an engaging workplace; be a TechAir role model; lead by example in customer service, professionalism, clear communication, and teamwork with TechAir crew team and other trades

  • Responsible for: production and job costs; accurate and timely manpower estimates to management; clear and timely feedback to CAD and Project Management; accurate and timely orders to the shop

  • Assure all NETA and site-specific safety and quality protocols are followed

  • Plan and task out work for entire crew to meet job schedules and follow through to assure effective completion of tasks; run effective daily huddles and end of day reviews

  • Able to read blueprints, specifications and cut sheets; accurately field measure and sketch for fabrication; place orders for duct, duct accessories, ETM and any specialty items using TechAir ordering systems; communicate effectively with the project managers and shop; work within the timeframes necessary to assure high quality duct can be manufactured and shipped to site according to job schedules.

  • Effectively plan and manage layout of duct lines, equipment, wall pens and floor pens; manage inventory and workplace organization; skilled at duct and duct accessory installation and testing

  • Willing and able to lead, train and mentor helpers and mechanics; work to retain and develop talent

  • Anticipate and/or identify conflicts and constraints on the job site, work with other trades, the GC and client to resolve constraints, manage conflicts and balance the needs of the crew, the GC, the client and TechAir

  • Accurately track, document and report daily production/piece counts, any necessary change orders (what, why and how), attendance of team members, performance issues, and any other data required by the client and/or NETA

Proven work experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role Current driver s license and ability to drive a company vehicle Required state licensing for HVAC technicians Certification or associate s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school Ability to pass a pre-screening drug test.
