Customs and Transportation Manager

ZOLL is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Europe Finance team as a customs import Manager. You will support day to day operations regarding customs activities (import export) from ZOLLs supply chain s network in the EMEA region to secure operational continuity, ensure appropriate documentation and transaction codings are applied, provide reporting as required tax authorities to enable compliance with regulations and business requirements.

Tasks

• Monitoring of clearance authorizations for forwarders and couriers
• Registration, clearance and release of import shipments
• Preparation of necessary documents for forwarders/couriers and customers after customs release
• Input of data into ERP system (Oracle) for clearance of import shipments and export data
• Preparation of export documents
• Import/Export controls
• Procurement and recording of supplier declarations and certificates of origin from suppliers
• Issuing of supplier declarations
• Master data maintenance of materials
• Matching of Inter co invoice to imported commercial invoice
• Proactively manage day to day customs processes.
• Liaise closely with our business stake holders across all ZOLLs divisions for alignment and support on present and future initiatives.
• Support on customs escalations (e.g. coordination between SC Logistics, brokers, carriers and other internal and external stakeholders regarding daily shipments).
• Identify, report and register incidents as well as follow up on implementation of corrective controls.
• Assist on classification of new products as well as determining (preferential) origin.
• Collecting and collating relevant customs data from sites and brokers (scorecards).
• Monitor and support proper export closure (e.g. confirmation of exit, alternative proof of export).

Requirements

• To be successful in this role, you will bring expertise in customs matters, understanding that customs is an area with high impact on the business both from an operational as from a compliance point of view.
• Customs-specific or commercial training with a focus on customs and transport (e.g. freight forwarding and logistics services clerk, wholesale and foreign trade management clerk, office management clerk) with several years of experience in a similar position
• Good knowledge & experience of international logistics, transportation and customs law
• Fluent in German and English
• Working with ZOLL worldwide stakeholders (US logistics)
• Sound understanding of customs processes including determination of origin and classification.
• Team player and able to build a good working network both internal and externally
