Job Title: Accountant III
Location (On-site, Remote, or Hybrid?): Austin, TX Hybrid role - 3 days in office 2 days remote. Assist with month-end close accounting tasks.
Contract Duration: Contract until 07/24/2023
Work Hours: 8AM to 5PM
Title: Sr. Accountant
Grade Level: 16
Performs accounting activities that require an in-depth understanding of accounting and operational aspects of the finance and accounting systems.
Job Duties: List the significant/essential duties, tasks or responsibilities which employees in this position are required to perform.
- Execute timely and accurate financial activities in support of business partners.
- Responsible for assigned month-end closing activities, including, journal entry preparation, account analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Responsible for preparation of various monthly financial reporting packages.
- Responsible for management of US Commercial leverage deal (revenue recognition) programs and associated accounting.
- Responsible for management of US Commercial Service Equipment accounting and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, Abbott Corporate and division/department specific policies and procedures
- Provide support for internal and external audits
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for assigned activities
- Operate independently, be flexible in changing environment and challenge the status quo.
- Perform configuration and testing related to existing or new processes/implementations as needed.
- Support all Company initiatives and ad-hoc requests as identified by management.

General Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 5+ years progressively responsible Accounting experience
- Experience with large ERP system; SAP preferred
- Strong Microsoft skills, including use of pivot tables, vlookups and analysis of data using Excel
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Requires knowledge of accounting regulations of operational accounting issues.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- CPA preferred but not required
- Ability to travel approximately 10%.
