Job Description

Position is remote.
Length of Contract - 6 months with the option to extend for an additional two (2) additional 6 month terms.

The Data Specialist will be a creative, analytical, and innovative individual who is passionate about data quality and analysis. They will be working with developers, quality analysts, solution architects, business analysts, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of data products are being delivered by implementing and performing data quality. Additionally, they will interpret data for data analysis, create test plans, perform data testing, conduct root cause analysis for issue resolution and documentation, implement testing automation and monitoring, and develop and identify data quality metrics.

• SQL Skills - Ability to work in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to query data, interpret results, and perform moderate data analysis. Ability to navigate in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to understand data flow through SSIS packages.

Quality Assurance Skills -

• Create test plans and make them available to be repeatable, perform data testing and capture testing results, Conduct root cause analysis for issue resolution and documentation through meaningful explanations of failures with examples.
• Brainstorming and implementing new ways to verify and test data.
• Incorporate testing automation and monitoring through Azure DevOps test plans.
• Produce data quality metrics. Working as a peer with systems quality analyst to coordinate test plans, learning from and improving upon data quality work completed, and aligning with test case management tools to provide consistent testing and backup support.
• Function within an Agile structured project using either Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Ability to break down work into manageable tasks and convey to the project team.
• Ability to provide hour estimates of individual tasks.
• Regularly provide tasks updates and progress percentages.

Additional Skills -

• Providing operational quality support and testing on service incidents to ensure production ready fixes are meeting quality standards.
• Understand and evaluate queries written within Microsoft Access databases.
• Comfortable learning and working within the Azure platform to establish data quality in the cloud.
• Addressing current data documentation gaps. Assist in planning a Data Lake ecosystem.
• Having other database experience outside of SQL and Azure is a bonus.OOE IT
