Job Description

R&D Alternate Fuel/Powertrain Engineer

Pay: $88k-$130k/yr.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location: Duncan, Ok

Job Description:

Our client is focused on researching and developing power solutions to improve efficiencies, performance and reduce the overall Total Cost of Ownership on specialized well servicing equipment. Alternate Fuel/Powertrain Engineers are responsible for understanding latest technologies available (including natural gas, dual fuel, and hydrogen systems) to provide technical guidance and direction. Alternate Fuel/Powertrain Engineers work closely with management and design engineering teams to define functional/technical specification along with technical support for surface equipment, this includes conception through commercialization of a product.

Qualifications:

• Ability to documents and communicate project proposals, justifications, functional and technical requirements • Strong understanding of heavy equipment, powertrains, and internal combustion engines (ICE) such as Diesel, Natural gas, Hydrogen and alternate fuel engines.

• Familiarity of low/zero-carbon fuels and alternate energy sources • Ability to evaluate powertrain attributes such as performance curves, emissions, fuel efficiency, etc. • Familiarity with global emission regulatory requirements • Ability to evaluate emissions data and compare components performance against standards • Familiarity with gas conditioning and distribution systems including regulatory requirements.

• Ability to work with appropriate engine manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers to create product specification • Skills acquired through the completion of degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline and A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the automotive, heavy equipment, or alternate fuel industry.
