Responsibilities:
- Excellent employment opportunity for a Research Associate I in the Santa Monica, CA area. (Onsite)

- This is a Sample Management position and is a logistics role.
- We are looking for a Research Associate to join our Analytical Development team.
- This individual will report to a Manager and will be responsible for managing starting materials, in-process samples, and final products receiving from various departments, assisting in cryopreservation, and laboratory data management.
- Cryopreserve cell therapy samples from clinical trials and development programs
- Inventory, retrieve, and organize samples for analytical testing /shipping/storage
- Work with different departments to create sample processing and sampling requirements
- Support sample management for routine in-process testing
- Perform data documentation to capture sample processing procedure and sample parameters
- Perform cell counting/viability data analysis for cell samples
- Provide training to team members on sample and inventory management systems
- Draft/revise SOPs and work instructions for sample management activities
- Occasional weekend support will be required.
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field required with 1+ years of experience in a similar role in a laboratory
- Experience with aseptic technique as well as primary and mammalian cell culture
- Prior biological sample management experience is a plus
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail and successfully execute experiments at the bench
- Has a basic understanding of sample collection, processing protocols, and shipping conditions
- Maintains inventory across multiple critical equipment temperature-controlled units
- Understands GxP requirements
- Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Previous customer service experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, and knowledge in statistical programming languages such as R and Python is a plus.
